FAQ
What are the general considerations for installing an ECO Link Power system ?
•    Proposed fuel
•    System total installed cost
•    How biomass units integrate with existing systems
•    Space for a fuel storage bin and modules required
•    Access by delivery vehicles
•    Codes, standards and regulations

What are the types of facilities generally suitable for biomass systems ?
•    Schools
•    Colleges
•    Hospitals
•    Public Buildings
•    Hotels
•    Recycling and Waste Disposal
•    Commercial Buildings
•    Greenhouses
•    Large Scale Agricultural Operations
•    Industrial Plants

Where are the systems built ?
•    Component manufacturing is performed at various OEM’s.
•    Combustion Units are manufactured in Italy.
•    Once complete and tested the system is shipped to site location.
•    Site erection, assembly and start-up is generally accomplished in under 12 weeks.

When installing a biomass system what factors should be considered ?
•    Fuel storage facility
•    A boiler room to house the boiler
•    Fuel handling equipment/mechanisms
•    Chimney placements to exhaust the combustions gases
•    Any necessary exhaust gas cleaning devices
•    Ash disposal equipment, systems, storage
•    Controls that keep the modular system operating optimally (water cooled grates, multiple ash augers, extractable light up burners etc)

What are the main types of fuel and what levels of moisture content are acceptable ?
•    What waste can be used?
   – Wood (incl. MDF and woodchip), green wood waste paper, cardboard, farm and human slurries, food waste agricultural waste and general packaging waste.
•    What waste cannot be used?
   – Some plastics, metals and glass
•    Moisture content between 0 and 120% . Will sustain loss in output bhp once moisture exceeds 30%.
•   What is the maximum size of chips allowable?
There are two methods of fuel supply:
   – Fucomatic screw auger system
•    Up to 25mm
   – Hydraulic pusher
•    50mm x 250mm

How much metal content will be acceptable ?
•    Small pieces of metal generally fall through the gates.
•    Larger pieces can subject the ash augers to undue friction and seizing.
•    Numerous technologies are available to quickly and easily remove metal from the fuel stock prior to entering the gasifier.

What are the implications of stopping and starting the plant ?
•    The systems are highly automated and offer modulation of 5 to 1.
•    These systems can run constantly and at high output.
•    Conversely they are easily modulated down to a set point of “slumber mode” which contributes enough fuel to maintain a minimal heat load in the lower chamber but insufficient to drive thermal output.
How many people do you need to manage an Eco Link Power integrated power system?
•    This will vary from project to project and be dependant on the level of automation and fuel types.
•    Automation employed can reduce manpower employed includes:
– Automation to monitor biomass feed system which can be shut down by jams in the fuel handling equipment.
– Monitoring of unit performance with sensors, keeping it clean and topped off. System controls should be equipped to monitor unit performance including video of feed systems.
•    Requirements of code, risk management and plant practices must be established. See UK boiler regulations.

Do these integrated power units comply with EU legislation ?
•    The Uniconfort products are produced to meet qualifying European and Italian standards.
•    Uniconfort Factory is certified to ISO 9001.
•    Copies of all such certification come with the unit manuals and can be provided prior to purchase upon request.

What process performance levels do you warranty ?
•    Eco Link Power Ltd can provide warranties that the system will provide the stated outputs under the conditions for which it was sold.
•    This includes thermal output of the VIGC units, the electrical generation equipment, the emissions treatment, the material handling, the briquette forming etc.

What would the expected downtime be ?
•    The systems will be warranted for a specific capacity and availability.
•    Generally availability of the modular systems is warranted to be in excess of 93%.
•    This number can be improved where systems incorporate further automation.

Provide details of the warranty ?
•    The supplied goods are guaranteed for 36 months, parts and labour for regular operations.
•    Major components of the Uniconfort Gasifier are guaranteed for 12 years.
•    The warranty covers all parts against material and workmanship defects within the warranty period that are clearly attributable to shortcomings in manufacturing and assembly.
•    All parts having the above mentioned defects will be replaced.
*For full details please refer to the warranty agreement.

What doesn’t the warranty cover ?
•    Improper storage of the goods supplied whilst waiting to be assembled.
•    Normal wear of materials.
•    Operation outside our operating parameters as detailed in our maintenance and operation’s manual.
•    Corrosion of materials in the fire-side circuits caused by formation of acidic condensate due to operation at low temperatures.
•    Corrosion and/or deformation of materials due to over-temperature caused by clogging and/or scaling in fire circuit.
•    Irregular or inadequate maintenance.
•    Use of equipment not complying with the purposes for which it was manufactured.
•    *For full details please refer to the warranty agreement.
